(Transcript of January 1, 2020 Unapologetic Bliss podcast)

Hello and happy new year!  It’s 2020 and I’m so glad that I get to be with you today because we’re going to talk about some incredible things.

First of all, a lot of people are setting resolutions right now, but we’re going to talk about action steps to make your wishes come true because a goal without action is pointless. Right? But first of all, I wanted to share a poem with you. But first, for those of you who have not experienced the podcast before, This is Unapologetic Bliss. In this podcast we talk about ways to courage up, claim your true purpose and stop worrying about what other people think about it because, my friends, you were born to do something special, and I’m here to encourage you and motivate you and help you.

So let’s start off with a poem that I wrote today about 2020 and see what kind of insights you guys might have about it. I just wrote this right before the podcast and I think it gives a good metaphorical picture of what is possible for us. A poem for YOU about 2020:

Herald in

The spark that

Lies dormant inside of you.

An ashy wasteland covered it

For days, weeks, maybe even years.

But today, for some reason, the winds blew just so,

The ash shifted just so, and the crevice opened just so

To receive the oxygen just so,

To light up and glow.

Being stagnant is a fallacy.

For there is always a fire burning inside,

So why be cold and angry

When you can nestle up to your true purpose

And be warm, thaw out and surrender.

The Heart waits for you to receive goodness.

The Soul waits for you to open access to action.

Your life is driven by ebbs and flows.

Action is crucial for both.

So don’t fall into a pit of despair

For to fail is not real.

However, to contemplate a choice that is less than ideal,

Is an opportunity to make another choice,

To rise onto the next step toward the pinnacle of your being.

The only reason to look back is to see how far up you’ve come,

Not how you got where you are.

Celebrate the momentum of your voyage,

For even in stillness and uncertainty,

There is motion,

Kinetic energy loosening up resistance

So you can choose authenticity

And be the person who is fully YOU.

Reasons for living are simple…

Kindness,

Compassion,

Togetherness,

Love.

Embrace these,

And all the pieces of your life will get up on the stage,

Do their dances,

And then scamper off so they all have a turn.

The finale,

The Greatest Act,

Is YOU fully in awe of stardom,

That who you are is important.

So that is what I channeled in today for 2020 and for today and for this moment and for all of you. I love that I am a poet because it explains these huge concepts in really very few words. It creates concepts out of words that create pictures in our minds that give us something tangible to hold onto when we don’t know what to do next in our lives. So it’s really, I feel so blessed to have this gift.

But here’s the deal, my friends, this is where the unapologetic part kicks in because I’m putting it out there. I’m putting my gifts out there and I’m sharing my true purpose. And every day when I see clients or I do workshops or I’m getting ready to host a retreat in New Mexico in the summer, things like that, it is very crucial that I fully put myself out there because there are people waiting to hear what I have to say, just like I am waiting for people to tell me what I need to hear and what I need to know and what I need to learn.

So if we do this collectively, we’re all sharing our true purpose, not just what we think we are, not just our job, the job. Listen, let me just be real here. I work, I work, but I work, I call it work that is really just going through my day doing what I do. And people just happen to pay me for it. So it’s not necessarily your job or your roles. It is authentically sharing that thing that you know to be true and what we’re going to talk about in this podcast about wishes and making them actionable.

I’m guilty as anyone of this, but how many of us say, “I wish I could just do whatever I wanted any day I wanted or I wish that I and everyone can be happy.” OR “I wish that I had a BMW,” which I do. Actually maybe an Audi hatchback, I don’t know.

But anyway we say these things in our head and notice even my voice changed when I said that I really wish I could go forward with life and I really wish I had all the money I needed. It just sounds kind of whiny. If we’re honest about it, there’s nothing wrong with wishing for things, but there’s not a magic genie waiting to make them come true.

We sit here and wish and wish and wish, and we put it out into the air and it just blows away because there is nobody to make it tangible except for you and me. So it’s kind of silly when you think about it. So a wish is something that is kind of akin to hope.

We hope that we can better ourselves. So we wish for things that we think will make us more happy or more fulfilled somehow. But we can wish all day long. And like I said, it blows off in the wind, like leaves or something and nothing happens. And that’s where a lot of people get stuck.

I’ve gotten stuck in the past on that. It’s all out there for everyone to see. But I just sat there waiting for it. And why is it not coming true? Because I wasn’t taking action and perhaps you are not either. So how is it to take action now? I have to admit, I’m allowing myself to be vulnerable on this podcast and just in life in general. You know, I procrastinate and procrastination is the antithesis to action, right? It’s kind of like thinking and thinking and thinking out of fear and before you actually take action and what you need to do. And usually we don’t take actions because of fear. And that’s common sense I think.

But let me give you an example how I took action with this podcast. I had an idea that I wanted to do a podcast because I really enjoy having conversations with people, but I never took action on it. And the funny thing is I could have just gotten on Facebook live and just done a podcast. I didn’t need the equipment, but for some reason I had it in my head that I needed the equipment and I had to save up the money to buy it. And then, I would have had to figure out and research what equipment was good for me and what wasn’t. And you know, so all these thought old patterns of non-action and excuses kicked in. Well, in August of 2019 I was at this meeting called Engaging Speakers.  There was a speaker named Matt Brauning and he is a top podcaster and speaker. He told us he was giving away podcast equipment to one of the people that texted him.

And there was a part of my gut that kind of lit up, kind of like the poem I just read where it’s about the spark, but this spark lived in me.  I told myself, “I know I’m gonna win this equipment. This is my time to do this!” And sure enough, he said my phone number and I said, “Oh my God, I won this podcast equipment!! I knew it!!”

So therefore I had no more room for excuses for doing my podcasts. So it’s interesting because if we are open to receiving the tools or the people or, or the opportunities that could lead us to the next step that is more tangible than just wishing because that’s an intention, intention, intent, intuition is all kind of the same word. Okay? So if you set it in your intuition or your intention, then that puts out a different vibe that says that I intend to have this. I intend to be who I am. I am ready to be who I am fully because that is the person that really is going to make a difference in the world and to myself.

So that is a whole other, when I was saying earlier, Oh, I wish, I wish, I wish, it’s just like a pipe dream. But when you say, I intend to be totally different vibe, your soul listens to it, your brain listens to it more intently. So I have a question for you. So instead of saying, Oh, I wish I had all this and I wish I had all that, what if you could say, “what can I do now to get closer to my desire to get closer to my goal?“ Because sometimes the goals we set, I know a lot of people are setting resolutions right now, right? And well we’ll talk about that in a minute.

But instead “what can I do now to get closer to my goal, my wish, my desires? If you just asked that question, your brain, your subconscious will actually start a little process. Kind of like the poem I read where these little things happen and then the spark is underneath and then you’re ready to go. So the brain starts with a question like that. It starts creating bullet points of solutions. When you ask that question to yourself, even in your head, you don’t have to ask it out loud and then because the brain understands that that is an action question.

Doing is action. So your brain automatically creates bullet points for that. And then if you’re just in tune with yourself but able to actually sit quietly without your phone or I’m saying this ironically because I’m on Facebook live, but without your social media on, then you can actually get your brain to create a new habit of putting action steps into your head from your own experiences. If you do this on a regular basis.

And so you can do that for small things or big things. Like, maybe you just want to clean your house today and you can say, what can I do now to get closer to making my house clean? And it might be just cleaning the sink in your bathroom. And then over time if you keep doing this, whether it’s a big thing or it was small thing, then you can actually, your brain will automatically or go into automatic pilot on this because if you have wishes in there, it’ll be stagnant. It’ll just be in limbo.

But over time, that habit of asking yourself that question will lead you to action steps in your head. And then you will have the thinking, will be about action versus, Oh, this longing for what I could have had. Okay. So I encourage you to do that. I was actually gonna call this podcast happy new habits instead of happy new year, because I did a Facebook live on it recently, but the habits are more important than the resolutions because the resolutions are big. The resolutions have a lot of steps. The resolutions are things we aspire for. But without the habits, like this example with the question that I told you “what can do now to get closer to that goal.”

It’s the same thing. Your habits shape you. So I said in my Facebook live yesterday, you need to live in your habit forming until the habits are formed and inhabiting yourself in the habits, or living with them for a while. And then after the habits are there, which is the mindset I was telling you about, then everything starts falling into place really easily.

But sometimes it’s scary to take action. Sometimes we really have to step out of our comfort zone to do that. And I understand. I’ll be vulnerable again. I have fear of rejection. And so when I call potential clients or I’m selling, you know, I don’t know, just to tell them about programs that are coming up or something. I have this fear of that, even though I’m very outgoing. But if I were to say to myself, “what can I do to overcome this and to take action where I can be courageous and overcome that fear”, my brain again will start creating those bullet points. This is how simple mindset is. A lot of people think, Oh, I’m going to take all these classes on mindset. I don’t know why no one’s hearing this. It’s very strange.

So we’re going to wrap this up, but I look forward to, I’m putting, I wanted to put out something to you that if you would like a copy of the 2020 poem that I read at the beginning of the podcast, then I would be glad to send it to you by email: info@joylucinda.com,  and I can also send you the transcript of this show so you have a copy of it. In the meantime, may your 2020 be filled with so much progress, action, enlightenment, and Ascension.

Going forward. Whatever the word is, it’s the opposite of stuck and just be in a state of grace this year and surrender, allow and let things flow easily and effortlessly. Because if we resist, then that’s when things start going awry and we start feeling irritable and out of sorts. I’m wishing you much love this year and I look forward to seeing you on the next unapologetic bliss podcast on the 1st, 3rd or 4th Wednesday at 11am central time.
